Overview

The JConcepts rear bumper set which targets the late 1970’s to early 1980’s styling looks the part on a number of shells on the market. It’s necessary for the rear of the body to have a mounting area flat enough to accept the injection molded items and position the bumper just below the tailgate just like the real thing. Bodies such as the JC #0305 / #0329, #0417, #0381 are perfect and accept these new chrome plated goodies.

The two bumpers are very different, the angular corner bumper (1970’s style) appears more like a home-built piece with plated steel, chromed over with a diamond plate finish. This looks good on a work truck, or a hustling piece which provides a little more function and step use on a jobsite or business venture. The (1980’s style) is more glamour, fit to purpose and features a recessed center section to allow for a license plate and looks more like a daily driver or show truck bumper. Each package contains a backer strip which is placed inside the body, and it is used like a large washer to give some resistance or structure to the final assembly.
