I’m Andrew Warren and I work on the Web Team at Horizon Hobby. I’ve been an RC enthusiast for well over a decade and enjoy being part of the growing community. My first job was at a local hobby shop where I would spend most of my paycheck on the latest and greatest products. During that time I formed lasting friendships that grew from a shared love for the hobby.
I’m an active person who likes to engage in pastimes that build technical skills. I enjoy cycling, woodworking, photography, video production, and of course radio control. I immerse myself in the RC hobby through assembling kits, upgrading vehicles, and driving at my local park. I’ve dipped my toes in all categories of RC but now find my interests lie primarily in rock crawlers, buggies, micro vehicles, and FPV drones.

Assembling an RC kit is a great way to gain skill and confidence in the hobby. Tamiya makes wonderful kits that focus on fun while also offering hobby-grade performance. I’ve built multiple TT-02 kits over the years and enjoy their easy-to-follow manuals and Phillips hardware that make assembly a breeze. They come in multiple body options to match your favorite full scale vehicle too!
The Tenacity DB pro is a durable basher that doesn’t sacrifice on performance or handling. I run mine with a SMART 3S LiPo to take advantage of real time battery level monitoring and 50+ mph speeds. My favorite feature is the hinged body that makes battery swaps easy, plus the body clips are captured so they can’t get lost! Friends always ask to drive so the ability to adjust AVC and throttle limit on the fly is a great touch.
The AX24 packs a ton of fun and performance in a small package. It’s a great platform for newcomers getting into rock crawling due to it’s low speed, small scale, and high durability. I personally enjoy bringing the AX24 to social events where I can introduce the hobby to others and let them drive without fear of breakage. Due to it’s size and maneuverability a stack of books is all it takes to create a fun indoor crawling course. If you’re already a rock crawling enthusiast you’ll appreciate the 4-wheel steering, generous articulation, and huge selection aftermarket parts.
