Powerful, dependable, easy to operate, maintain and appreciate — that describes LA R/C engines to a “T.” Designed as the heirs to popular FP sport engines, each and every one is engineered with a keen understanding of how you fly — and what you want. Ease and safety? Each LA R/C engine includes a needle valve that’s remotely mounted on the engine backplate, to keep fingers far from spinning props. The precision needed to achieve the fine-tuned performance you want is at your fingertips. So are an O-ring seal and ratchet spring, to help hold those hard-won settings longer against “creep” caused by air leaks and vibration. Would a longer needle eliminate the need to remove the cowl for adjustments? Just insert a 2mm diameter wire into end of the needle valve. The set screw to secure it is already in place. A flat prop washer and longer crankshaft ensure that a prop nut and spinner have the thread they need for positive engagement. The nylon backplate on the 10LA, 15LA, 25LA and 46LA gives way to a metal backplate on the 65LA. A hex head on the air bleed screw makes easy adjustments with an allen wrench a given. Here’s another given: features that favor long, dependable service. Bronze phosphor bushings contribute to smoothness. Heavy-duty webbing on a one-piece crankcase, protection against heat distortion and binding. A high profile, heat sink head and fins on the crankcase maximize cooling capacity, to defeat heat and enhance long life. All include muffler and a 2-year warranty. All (except (25LA & 46LA engines) also include glow plug.

What LA R/C engines do for R/C pilots, LA-S engines provide for C/L (Control Line) pilots. LA-S C/L engines offer all the construction and performance benefits of the LA R/C engines, with one exception: in place of a carburetor, they offer a high-performance venturi that ensures constant speed — and consistent, all-out performance. All LA-S Series engines include a glow plug, muffler and 2-year warranty.
