Although rare, any problem you encounter with the Tower Hobbies Wish List interface is most likely
browser-related. Read below for probable causes of and solutions to such functionality problems.
Some problems you might encounter regard the use of a standard browser feature called "cookies". A cookie is a small text file which is stored on your
computer and allows us to store items in the Wish List associated with your browser. It does not include any of your personal information and can in no
way degrade the operation of your computer. You must have your browser configured to accept cookies to use the Tower Hobbies Wish List. Setting this up
on your system may vary from browser to browser but is usually enabled by default. If not enabled, follow these steps:
How to enable cookies —
- Internet Explorer – In the menu bar choose Tools/Internet Options and then click on the tab labeled "Privacy". Using the slider bar, select
"Medium" (or lower) as the setting. Click "OK" at the bottom of the window. Cookies are now enabled and the Tower Hobbies Wish List interface should work.
If you experience further difficulties continue reading this page to determine the problem and solution.
- Mac / Safari – In the menu bar choose Safari and click "Preferences...". Within the resulting Security dialog box, in the Accept Cookies area,
select "Always". Close the Security dialog box. If you experience further difficulties continue reading this page to determine the problem and solution.
Other possible problems and solutions associated with cookies —
- Instructing programs such as AdAware to delete cookies (if doing so while in the process of creating or making changes to your Tower Hobbies
Wish List), or configuring such programs as Cookie Monster to not accept cookies from Tower Hobbies will adversely affect browser operation and will
keep you from being able to properly use the Tower Hobbies Wish List interface. There are too many such programs for us to go into detail on how to resolve
all issues. If further assistance is needed please check your settings and review any help files or access on-line help for any of these programs installed
on your computer.
- Another possible source of cookie-related problems: Some corporate environments may filter cookies through a "firewall". You will not be able to
properly use the Tower Hobbies Wish List in these conditions.
- Very rarely a problem with your Wish List may arise that, as a last resort, requires cookies to be deleted. To delete your browser cookies:
- Internet Explorer 6 – In the menu bar choose Tools/Internet Options/Delete Cookies and click "OK" within the subsequent prompt. The removal of
the files could take several seconds. Once completed, click "OK" in the Internet Options dialog box. You should then have a normally functioning browser.
- Internet Explorer 7 – In the menu bar choose Tools/Internet Options and then click the "Delete..." button. Click the "Delete Cookies..." button
and click "Yes" within the subsequent prompt. The removal of the files could take several seconds. Once completed, click "Close" and then click "OK" in the
Internet Options dialog box. You should then have a normally functioning browser.
- Mac / Safari – In the menu bar choose Safari and click "Preferences...". Within the resulting Security dialog box click the "Show Cookies"
button. Select the cookies to be deleted from the resulting list. Click the "Delete" button. Close the Security dialog box. You should then have a normally
functioning browser.

Cache / Caching / Temporary Internet Files
|
Internet files such as web pages, pictures and videos are temporarily stored in a folder on your computer. As the folder nears capacity, web browsing
can become rather slow or may halt completely in which case your Wish List or any other web page may fail to load properly. Clearing the temporary files
from this folder will solve this problem.
How to clear the cache (temporary internet files) —
- Internet Explorer 6 – In the menu bar choose Tools/Internet Options and then click the "Delete Files" button. In the pop-up window that appears,
check the box labeled "Delete offline content" and then select "OK". The removal of the files could take several seconds. Once completed, click "OK" in the
Internet Options dialog box.
- Internet Explorer 7 – In the menu bar choose Tools/Internet Options and then click the "Delete..." button. Click the "Delete Files..." button and
click "Yes" within the subsequent prompt. The removal of the files could take several seconds. Once completed, click "Close" and then click "OK" in the
Internet Options dialog box.
- Mac / Safari – In the menu bar choose Safari and click "Empty Cache...". A window explaining what will happen will appear. Click "OK" to proceed.
If you are still experiencing problems you may reset the Safari browser. For this full reset (empties the cache, clears cookies, erases history and clears
autofill information), in the menu bar choose Safari and click "Reset Safari...". A window explaining what will happen will appear. Click "OK" to proceed.
