Replacements Better than the Originals
Review by Giant M. on 6 Dec 2018review stating Replacements Better than the Originals
I had a hard landing on the first flight of my new Phoenix 1/7 P-51 Mustang that was totally my fault. As a result, I broke both retracts off, fortunately without any wing damage. The replacement retracts not only dropped right in and aligned perfectly, but also proved to be much more precisely manufactured. There was virtually no "wiggle" in both the up and down positions unlike the originals, one of which displaced nearly an inch sideways in the down position. It's too bad the ones provided with the kit were so much out of spec, but the replacements are just fine.

Review by Gunthercat on 8 Apr 2019review stating Disappointed
I understand that these 60-size retracts need to be as light as possible. But the material is just too soft. I fly in Kansas on a grass field. A calm day is 10 to 15 mph. Heck, forget about the landings. Just bouncing on the take off run will bend these struts. After three sets of these retracts, I think I'm done with them. The Phoenix Mustang, however, is a good little airplane.
