Great up grades.

I bought a Tucson a few years ago and I was really impressed with the aircraft and the way it flew, so I just another and I the Arf had some great upgrades. This kite I decided to go with the retractable landing gear, wow they're beautiful and very scale like. I did run into some problems trying to use standard servos for the retracts. I was able to use a standard for the front gear but the main retract needs a retract servo, the height of the servo is 1/4 inch too tall and caused some binding in the push rods and the servo sets on the floor of the fuselage so I have some concerns about vibrations. I've yet to fly my new tacano with the extra weight, but I'm sure it will be fine. I love these Phoenix models.

Review by Caddguy6 on 16 Sep 2018review stating Nice robust retracts.
I purchased these retracts for the Phoenix Tucano .40-.51 but not because it was my initial intent. I purchased the Tucano model about five years ago but intended to use electric retract units and when I finally began assembly of this model recently is when I realized I had to use the trailing link gear struts of the retract kit for the wing of this model. I will not go into what is needed to modify these struts with electric retracts as it's outside the scope of this review. The mechanical retract units supplied in this gear set appear very well made and are silk smooth in their operation, as are the actual trailing link struts. Installation into the Tucano model is straightforward by following the included instructions. As with any mechanical retract setup care must be taken with getting the push rods adjusted for proper operation. Anyone selecting this combo of plane and gear should be rewarded with a very usable and reliable system.
