Overview

Built to modernize “America’s Railroad®,” the Amtrak® Cities Sprinters have state-of-the-art features such as regenerative braking that can feed energy back into the power grid. The latest generation of electrics for the Northeast Corridor, the ACS-64 can reach speeds upwards of 125 mph. Two new paint scheme additions are joining this popular line in late 2022, including series leader #600 which bears the name “David L. Gunn” in tribute to Amtrak’s former president, and locomotive #662, which was wrapped in a special “Phase III” heritage scheme to promote the video game Train Sim World® 2 while also celebrating Amtrak’s 50th anniversary.

  • TCS true CD-quality audio in 16-bit 44,100Hz sound
  • Keep-Alive® device that keeps your engine running during power interruptions due to dirty track or loss of electrical contact
  • Voice-guided Audio Assist® programming tool for easy setup of almost all decoder functionality
  • Dual-mode NMRA-compliant decoder
  • Fully remappable light functions that include flashing ditch lights, reverse direction marker lights, and directional headlights with Rule 17 dimming
