When being delivered by rail, new wheels are typically transported on flatcars that have been built or modified for this specific purpose. The Bachmann 52' Wheel Flatcar represents examples of this car found from the 1950s through the early 2000s, the prototypes of which were modified from earlier general-use flatcars. Features of the model include a newly tooled wheel transport rack and load of separate wheelsets, all finished in an authentic oxide brown.
