The 21VZ-B V-Spec-T with Pilot Shaft (P) is the top-of-the-line power plant for serious 1/8 scale off-road competition. The V-shaped head is designed to allow heat to dissipate faster and easier, for lower operating temperatures and extended engine life. The low-end needle on the 21C carburetor adjusts from side to side, for maximum adjustment ease, and 8mm and 9mm carb restrictors allow for tuning the engine’s power to specific track conditions. The chrome-plated cylinder and liner have been hardened for greater durability and longer engine life, and the machined steel piston features parallel rings that trap fuel oils and use them as a seal to extend compression and boost power. A reshaped crankcase core ensures smoother air flow and more consistent performance. Other advantages include a 2-piece turbo head design, integral pilot shaft, sealed front bearing and an exhaust seal and dust cap set. The new super-hot Turbo P3 plug is included for better burn, more power and improved fuel economy.
The 21VZ-R Turbo II w/20K On-Road Carb is the pinnacle of performance for 1/8 scale on-road racing. Upgrades that make the 21VZ-R Version II more durable and increase power include an improved internal crankcase core and re-shaped liner port for better mixture flow, a button-shaped inner head design to boost high-end rpm and a piston that’s machined from bar stock for more strength. The Version II still shares great performance features with the original 21VZ-R Turbo, such as a 2-piece turbo cylinder head, rear exhaust, true ABC construction, re-positionable universal fuel inlet nipple and the full linear action of a 20K slide-valve carb. The 21VZ-R Version II comes with the powerful T-P7 Turbo Glow Plug that’s designed specifically for turbo head engines. The tapered, unthreaded end fits snugly for better combustion, without the need for a seal washer.
