At O.S., heli engines are designed and built not to meet performance standards, but to set them. Choices for 30-size helis include the 50SX-H Ringed Hyper which mounts in a 30-size space, and delivers more horsepower for higher rotor speeds and over-the-top flying excitement. The 70SZ-H Ringed and 91SX-H Ringed Special Competition which mount in .60-size spaces, but feature designs created for rigorous FAI F3C competition. The 70SZ-H Ringed operates in the same rpm range as most .60s, which simplifies installation and minimizes the need for gearing changes. High-rpm “shake” on the 91SX-H has been significantly reduced with a more balanced crankshaft design and lighter materials for the piston, conrod and piston pin. Both feature triple-needle carbs to provide precise control at idle, hover and top-end. All require muffler or tuned pipe and header. All except 50SX-H, 50SX-H Ringed, FS-52H Surpass and 91SX-H also require glow plug.
