PT-40: Internationally Famous Quality!
Great Planes’ original PT-40 was the first American kit ever to be selected over hundreds of challengers as International Model of the Year. Its design, plans, instructions and materials were all judged far superior — and the MKII version is even better! |

Experts agree — PTs are the finest trainers available.

“I was immediately impressed with the kit upon opening. I have never seen cleaner die-cuts or nicer sanded, well grained wood. The instruction booklet was my 2nd pleasant surprise, with clear photos and easy to follow instructions. I look forward to building my next Great Planes kit.”
—Roger Briggs, Carney’s Point, NJ

Ask any experienced pilot to recommend a trainer. You’ll hear all about Perfect Trainers: their comfortable flight...their almost automatic landings...their ability to recover hands-off from control mishaps. With generous dihedral and flat-bottom airfoils, PTs nearly fly themselves!
You can’t go wrong building one, either. The PT-20 MKII, PT-40 MKII and PT-60 kits’ wood parts are precisely die-cut and sanded to fit exactly right. Interlocking tabs and slots hold fuselage pieces together even before you apply glue. And the wings’ unique “Interlocking I-Beam” construction adds incredible strength. In tests, 104.25 lb of weight was piled onto the PT-40 MKII wing. It bent — but didn’t break!
NOTE: Because of size, the PT-40 MKII and PT-60 kits cannot be shipped to international addresses.
